East Village Survey
This study examines the transportation habits, shopping and spending
patterns of residents and visitors on 2nd Avenue between Houston
Street and 14th street in the East Village. This avenue, lined with
shops, bars and restaurants, is heavily trafficked by pedestrians,
bicyclists and vehicles. The study assesses people's modes of travel
and constituencies' associated spending. The study also assesses how
specific changes in street use and allocation of space will affect the
attractiveness of 2nd Avenue as a place to shop and visit.
